Is FDI a really bad deal?

Nehru started encouraging Big Industries many years ago. Motive of his policy was growth of the Country. Now you go to any village and ask for families of Lohar, Julahey, etc. And also ask what they are doing in these days. You will find all working as Labor. Tata has become Lohar (Iron Smith) and JK has become Julaya (Cloth or yarn manufacturer). Similarly, we have long list of Industrial Houses which have shattered our social caste pattern.

What will the result of FDI?

India was one of the first independent countries from the British Empire that promoted globalisation of trade and industry. The rest of the world took 30 years to get the idea; and now major multi-nationals are claiming it to be theirs !

FDI has promoted industrial and infrastructural development in India, to an extent that the "old money" would not have done. The princely states and plutocratic families needed the spur or US and European industry to take advantage of science, technology and marketing skills. It has had two main benefits. First, companies were formed which have gradually come under Indian control and Indian management. Second, Indian entrepreneurs have been able to go global and take control of industries in US and Europe. You should speak to British trade unionists about the steel industry, pharmaceuticals, computer software and so on. All now come under Indian control. Whether that wealth ever returns to India is a good question; I suspect not.

Your question shows a very Indian attitude towards social structure. The rest of the world sees the break-up of the caste system to be an important advantage of globalisation in India. Lower castes are now able to train and participate in industry, commerce and the professions in a way that was impossible under previous structure. Most foreigners find it very strange that the Delhi government is now asking people to declare their caste origins; [although I can understand it in some circumstances - there are millionaires claiming to be Dalit because they want to buy agricultural land cheaply.]

On the negative side of FDI, I think it would not be difficulty to show that globalisation has drained a lot of wealth out of India in corporate profits; and also that wage-rates are depressed by informal cartel arrangements between international corporations. The Delhi government is not willing to confront cartels and other monopolies in case foreign capital is withdrawn.

Source(s): Spent half my life in India; promoting management education and training for industry and commerce. The other half between UK, Hong Kong, Gulf and Eastern Europe.

FDI is international direct investment. they're going to have been spectacular simply by fact the words of the investments have been too super, giving non-countrymen reward which the countrymen need to proceed, fdi might mean that the foreigners doing the making an investment could be bringing of their own workers so even tho the corporate runs in India, that is going to now no longer create jobs for Indian adult adult males and females. For something element of the present financial twelve months, the form of subsidised LPG cylinders handy to each and each customer is restricted to 3 cylinders. The subsidised cylinders will proceed to be on hand at Rs 399 in line with cylinder (at Delhi) whilst the industry value of LPG cylinders at non-subsidized costs will probable be notified with suggestions from skill of the OMCs on a month-to-month foundation. “The below-restoration on sale of living house LPG for the time of 2012-13, even after this degree, is predicted to be above Rs 32,000 crore. Any volume of cylinders could be on hand over and above the cap of six cylinders at industry price,” the assertion reported. in distinctive words, you get the organic volume on the industry price although a limited grant of extra cylinders at a subsidized, or lesser, value.

FDI is indeed a bad deal if you were a member of the upper-caste, since you lose your power.

FDI is a good deal for all other castes as they can now earn same quality of life as upper castes.

Lie on the bed of caste system ,and you are safe... do not even open the window of FDI.

Today 28 villages banned an young couple following DIKTAT of khap apncahyats of OBC yadavs.

The rot is deep down - I do not give a damn, even to the tribals who say they are not untouchables.
