Is it possible to report offensive messages through Yahoo! Answers?

While checking e-mail messages on the e-mail account that I use for Yahoo! (which I might check once a month), I saw a message from Yahoo! Answers user Liam calling my mother a "wh*re". How do you report messages like this one?

Update:

Thanks, I sent an e-mail to the Yahoo! Answers e-mail address that several of you provided. I just didn't know how to report these.

    Hi Joshua N,

Obviously, from actually reading your question, i see that the mail was sent via the email link on your Y!A activity page.

Therefor the user that sent it to you does not have your actual e-mail address, nor do you haver theirs... just the live link (within the email itself)

Mails like that should be FOWARDED (not copied & pasted, nor url linked) to the Yahoo! Answers team.

On the subject line , erase the part that says "you have received an email from a Y!A user".. and replace that with "Harassment/offensive email"

You can jot a short note to the team, and then FORWARD to:

y_answrs_team@yahoo.com <-- no 'e' in 'answers' is CORRECT.

It is important that you DO NOT REPLY, and also is wise to immediately BLOCK the user that sent it.

^that will insure that they cannot email you again.

Been there, done that^^^ the Team has always taken care of the issue. They take harassment seriously.

  • Go with the answers from Oops and Riki who are correct. Abusive emails sent via the Y!A mail system should be reported to the Y!A team who will check and deal with it. Customer Care will just send you an automated message that they've received it and that will be the end of it.

I have had several really appauling messages from a profile so speak from that experience. Don't respond to them. Block the profile concerned and forward it to YAT y_answrs_team@yahoo.com with a short & polite request for them to please take action.

You could send an email to: y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

Strange address but its correct. Include the URL for the individuals profile with an explanation and paste in the abusive messages.

E-mail the team at y_answrs_team@yahoo.com giving a link to the e-mail address of the person and a copy of the mail.
