Swine do not chew the cud so, even though Jews are only forbidden to eat them, they really aren't that nutritious because, in order to get the most out of the meat that we eat, the animal has to eat grass and herbs and those things are best digested when they chew the cud.

Pigs eat anything and that's why folks that eat too much and let their appetite run them are called pigs.

Besides today, you don't know what these farms are actually feeding their animals. Its one of the most unregulated, corrupt businesses that is looked over by a top heavy and heavily corrupted agencies of the gov't.

That was a directive given to the israelites. Peter had a vision as recorded in the book of Acts where he was told to stop calling unclean that which was purified referring to eating foods. The book of Acts is also a part of the Bible, and eating pork is perfectly acceptable now.

To quote from the movie Snatch..never trust a pig farmer.

Back in biblical times pigs would pick up liver flukes from the water which they drank, which are harmful to humans, so it made sense not to eat pork. So it was historically correct in its advice. It is no longer the case. However what this article has to do with consumption of pork I can't see. As someone who had pet pigs and who doesn't eat animals I wouldn't eat them anyway. I found them to be intelligent, affectionate and happy in their demeanour, but mine were free-range and lived a natural life - so much less likely to be stressed or disturbed.

the laws concerning the consumption of unclean beings have been fulfilled in the shed blood of Jesus. pigs were only one of the many things which God proclaimed to be unclean and forbade his people to eat in the old testament, but the new testament does away with those laws (acts 10:9-16, 1 timothy 4:4-5)

    No, certainly not.

I prefer babby-fed pork myself, but as long as it's properly cured & smoked.........
