Im making a portfolio, how do I go about printing?

I have a lot of pictures of the work I've done. I just need to print them and put them together.

Do I just go to any printing place and just have my pictures printed in there? And what kind of book do i put them in? Is there any you would recommend that I could buy?

Depends ... there are a few ways of doing this.

1- You can get an actual portfolio book ... it's a book with plastic sleeves that you slip the pictures in ... I hate those personally.

2- Get a LARGE Scrapbook, some thin 2 sided tape squares and get your images printed at a shop.

3- Get a nice photobook printed.

4- Get a Really nice Layflat book printed.

Recently I created a photobook because I had just finished a photography course. If all your photos are in pdf form I would recommend Azimuth printers in the UK - I am sure they would post to the US - they are online - you can Skype them also. My photos were jpegs I downloaded several different software packages before I found jessop photo - I think they will post to anywhere(they are a UK photo company)- and I was able to set out each page the way I wanted it (you shouldn't go for an automatic program that will randomly crop your photos - also High st shops that sell photobooks might crop your photos too.. It took me quite a long time to create the layout but I was very pleased when i actually got the book. And if you opt for the scrap book method I have several eg one from Marks and Spencer with black pages - I have a white pen by Sakura from Tiger Pens I use to write on it). Or another alternative is a lotka paper book available from fair trade sites(allthingsgreen.net) - these are made in Nepal and are very lovely. Go for acid free glue so your photos will not deteriorate over time.
