What does a father do when child support ends?
What happens when child support services stop intercepting your tax refunds and stops taking monthly child support payments when the child reaches 18? Is child support over? Would they keep garnishing if there was a balance due? Is there an action that the non- custodial parent needs to take at this point?

"Would they keep garnishing if there was a balance due?"
No, it would be paid in full then. So nothing happens. He is no longer going to be hunted down and billed by the child support department.

if there is back child support, it will still be taken out, and the state will garnish any refunds...if not, you will get a notice saying, child support is over.

Child support doesn't necessarily end once the child turns 18. If that child decides to go to college, child support must be paid until graduation....up to age 25.
