The ladies tel me its way more comfortable to wear tights with shaved legs than hairy. But some say it doesn't matter.

Tights definitely feel better worn on hairless legs. I don't shave I use a hair removal cream as this gets rid of the risk of cuts or nicks in the skin that can look unsightly especially with nude or natural shade sheer tights.
Even opaque tights feel lovely on hairless legs.

It makes a huge difference. Shave them clean. Make sure they are nice and smooth. Stubble will feel itchy.
