Can Citalopram 20mg cause screaming? Has anyone else had this side effect?

Ive been taking Citalopram for 4 months now, and about once a week i get an episode where i get to the verge of crying for absolutely no reason, and then I proceed to scream. I try to hold it in but theres no other choice sometimes and im left jamming to my music extremely loud and screaming my face off... Has anyone else had this?

Citalopram is a very tricky drug, with many many side effects. It's main advantage is being quicker than Prozac (fluoxetine) but that also makes it harder to come off. I've never heard of a screaming side effect personally, but it may well be the drug.

From a guy that was on Prozac for a month with little to know effect the main thing I can recommend is for you to slowly come off it and look to other means of boosting your mood. I found that it wasn't me that needed changing it was the environment, try doing things like buying clothes that you feel good in or removing anything from your life that may get you down (work etc...). That's the best I can recommend anyway.
