What's wrong with my back?

For the past couple of months, I've had unusual back pain. It's my upper/middle back area, and it feels like a pressure within my spine, and more achey than painful. It always feels like it has to pop, but when I try to pop it, it feels no better and usually doesn't pop at all. It's gotten so bad that I'm beginning to wake up with this pain. I've also tried stretching and massages (not professional), and I've tried taking Advil and Aleve with no results. Please help me. I'm so tired of being in pain...

It's not your back. You have a kidney infection. They don't always come with nausea or a fever. It feels almost exactly like a torn muscle or a dislocated bone, but nothing you try will help because you're going after the wrong cause. Tons of people mistake the reason for the pain, even people like me who have been through both kidney problems and muscle strains along the back.

Start drinking tons of water, gatorade and powerade. Cranberry juice is a good idea too. Absolutely no soda, energy drinks, caffeine, or alcohol. Sometimes they can go away on their own. If not, you'll need antibiotics. Since you've had this problem for several months, you may not want to wait to see if it will clear up on its own. Dehydration is one of the major causes of kidney and urinary tract problems, and this was a long, hot summer. The doctor will tell you to drink more fluids too, and he'll probably prescribe something in the sulfa class. While there, see if you can get a prescription for vicodin. It works incredibly well for most types of pain.
