Is something wrong with my tattoo?
I got my second tattoo done, this one on my leg, the first on my shoulder blade. The one on my shoulder blade scabbed a bit then peeled and it was fine. The one on my leg healed normally with just a bit of peeling and no scabbing. I got it done a little over a month ago, and there are still spots that are raised up because it looks like the tattoo needs to peel. I don't know how to get rid of this and it's ugly and making my tattoo look gross. Plus, I need to go get it touched up because there are some parts that need to be filled in already and I don't know if that's from it not fully peeling or what. Yes, I took great care of it during the healing process and used A&D.

Hello! I would check with your artist to be sure, but it sounds like scar tissue. This happens with tattoos sometimes, it particularly occurs if the artist was "heavy handed." Portions of my tattoo are still raised, over a year later. I got curious and asked my artist about this and she explained it to me. She also has a tattoo that is raised, and another artist in the shop jumped into the conversation, saying that parts of his sleeve are raised. I'd check with your artist just to be sure, but that's probably all it is.

Maybe you should take it back into your tattoo artist. He'll be able to tell you what's wrong. It does sound weird considering you got it done 1 month ago.
But I wouldn't take that for word. I've only got one tattoo and it healed perfectly.

Do not scratch the spot, however it might itch. Gently rub over it with a soft towel or handkerchief to alleviate itchiness. In case of a severe allergenic reaction or infection in the spot, contact a doctor immediately.
