What's a hanging lie?

I'm worried my dad might get executed for something he said on the golf course.

    Golf - a lie in which the ball is situated on a slope having a downward incline in the direction that the ball is to be played.

    In golf a lie is where the golf ball has landed. It isn't a told untruth so your dad is safe. It is great that you are so concerned about your dad.
