    Very much so. In fact, all Asian countries have bakery chains. The taste for bread started in Japan about a hundred years ago, spread to Taiwan and Korea, and out from there.

    It's actually much easier to get fresh baked pastries in Korea than it is in much of the US.

    Yes Koreans are consumers of flour products, besides bread, pastries and cakes they also like glutinuous rice flour like mochi, rice cakes (dukbuki) and dumplings *
