Windows XP Service Pack 1?

Due to some networking limitations, I need to get a hold of a stand alone installer for SP1 for Windows XP.

I'm having trouble finding it. The SP1a express installer actually wants a network connection to complete the install which is not an option for me.

I also heard it was possible to skip over SP1 and go directly to SP2, is that true?

You can install SP2 which includes all the updates/fixes in SP1. Don't forget to then install SP3. Unfortunately you can only install SP3 if either SP1 or SP2 is installed. I got both SP2 & SP3 on CDs from Microsoft in South Africa.

    Edit:

The Service Packs for Windows XP are not cumulative. You have to install SP1 or SP2 before you can install SP3 - ask Microsoft.

    Source(s): I use Windows XP Pro with SP3 & Windows 7 Ultimate.

Service Packs are cumulative, SP2 includes SP1 while SP3 includes both SP2 and SP1.

Try this link to dowload the standalone installer -> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows...
