How do you patch Terrazzo flooring?

Hubby and I just bought a house built in 1962 and our floor in the home is Terrazzo and we have a step down living room alongside a larger living space but the sunk down living room is divided by iron gate? fence? I don't know exactly what you would call it but that's not the issue. The issue is we are planning on removing the dividers and its going to leave nasty holes in the floor and I was curious what you would patch the floor with to where it doesn't look like an eye sore. The terrazzo floor is white and has chips of brown, beige, and opalized white marble.

Any suggestions would be awesome, self help websites also welcome. Thanks!

their are industrial supply places that sell fillers for stone and terrazzo, you have to buy the colorant separate but you could get fairly close results.

One solution involves finding chips of white, brown, beige and opalized white marble. Then, experiment with mixing the chips in white thin-set (and water) and putting the mixture in cupcake holders to see how they look when hard. I think terrazzo floor is poured and polished. Polishing the cupcakes is another problem. You could look into granite polishing grinders, etc. When you think you have solved these problems, try one hole in a model of the hole in the floor, not the floor itself. Try a hole in a marble tile, for example, about the size and shape of the real thing. Fill it with the best chip mixture and let it set for a day or two and then polish it and see if meets your needs/expectations.
