Bank said I have a Social Security Number?

Went to my Canadian Bank today to open a Business account, they entered my information and I was asked if I was an American.... No I am no... Bank lady tells me I have a Social Security Number in my name!! She deleted it from the file (but likely not the system my information was pulled from)... What does/could this mean? No I have never worked in the USA, never lived there etc... Born, raised etc only in Canada.

Update:

NOTE : There is NOT another person with the same name is mine! (My real name, there are only a few of left, I have done the research)

it could mean someone in the us has your name. or could mean someone - like an illegal immigrant from south - used your info to fake a social security number.

It means there's someone in the United States who has the same name as you. That's not exactly an unusual scenario.
