How much fuel do i have in my 1996 Honda Shadow-Spirit 1100?
I have a 1996 Honda Shadow-Spirit 1100 and was wondering how i know how much fuel i have left. I didn't see a fuel gauge anywhere or low fuel light, and have already run out of gas once.. ??

A lot of bikes don't have fuel gauges. Next time you fill up, reset the trip mileage on your speedometer to zero, and make a note how many miles you have gone on a full tank of gas when you run out again (of course, switch your petcock to reserve so you can get to the gas station). Now, you can use your trip mileage as your fuel gauge.
Source(s): I do this on my 96 Yamaha Virago XV1100. It holds ~4 Gallons, depending on driving conditions I can usually go around 120 miles on a tank...I use 100 miles as my go-to number to refuel. I do have the added bonus of a low fuel light, though. - Anonymous5 years ago
For those who blew the seals sufficient to permit fluid to leak out of them, you must exchange the seals. Nevertheless, i believe you won't take heed to excellent recommendation, so yes, you can add fluid to the highest of the fork. Get rid of one top cap - carefully, there is a spring beneath there and the last MM of turn will pop the entire factor upwards! It is worthwhile to know the fluid stage. Sadly, most forks are stuffed off the bike with the fork entirely compressed, measured down from the top a special distance to the highest of the fluid. You're going to need to bet. Leave around a hundred and fifty - 180mm of air area at the prime of the fork. It'll seemingly be shut. 2d warning!!!! Dispose of just one fork cap at a time!!!!! Do not remove each caps while!!!!. You're going to injure your self and the front end will crumple should you take each entrance fork caps off at the same time while the weight of the bike is on the front wheel!!!!. Put the first cap utterly on - dont' pass thread the cap! Then take the 2d cap off and repeat. Fill the fluid to the identical level you set on the opposite fork. I particularly advise that you've the fork seals, dust seals and different put on materials changed and the forks serviced effectively. Your entrance finish is all that's keeping you safely on the street.
