3DTVs
Pros: Can display 3D material from 3D BluRay players, or the occasional sports game on Cable TV. Can also display 3D games from certain Playstation 3 titles, like SoCom or others. 3DTVs use higher quality panels so even non-3D material looks great on them.
Cons: Requires 3D glasses, which can be quite expensive if you need to buy extra pairs. Very little 3D material available. 3D TVs are more expensive than non-3D TVs. 3D blu-ray players are more expensive than non-3D blu-ray players. 3D movies are more expensive than non-3D movies (although they do include regular blu-ray and DVD versions as well.)
Other issues: 3D TVs cannot convert non-3D material into 3D. 3DTVs that do not require glasses are under development now.
Personal opinion: Waste of money. The glasses don't fit over my regular glasses, causing imperfect 3D imaging and headaches. Not enough material, and honestly, does 3D actually enhance the viewing experience? Sure it looks nifty for a few minutes but then what?
Conclusion: That said...if I found a TV I liked and it happened to be 3D, so be it. 3D TVs also make great regular TVs.

There is a misconception about 3dtv's. If you want a top of the line tv it will automatically be a 3d tv. There are not top of the line tv's that are not 3d. People think they are 2 different types offered, no this is not true.
So if you want a tv with the best technology in picture quality and the latest features with a larger screen it will also have 3d. If you want a cheaper not so good tv then it will not have 3d.
