Bad Wifi Connection PLZ HELP?

ok, so when i play Call of duty black ops on my xbox, my connection is ALWAYS one baring. No one, as i know of, is on the wifi at the same time as me. so, my question is, how do i fix it? my wifi information is below.

N600 DB Wireless Dual-Band N+ Router

up to 300+300 speed/mbps

4 internal antennas

1 USB port

simultaneous daul-band 2.4GHz & 5GHz networks

optimized for video streaming and gaming

prioritizes network traffic (QoS)

Dual Banded

here is a link to the actual router http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Wireless-Dual-Band-Ro...

my xbox is about 30-40 feet away from my router, if ur able to go through walls.

my internet is DSL and when we set up the actual wifi it was fine cuz it was running off of cable internet connection. but 2 weeks later, we switched it to DSL. Thats when the wifi started acting up and making my xbox lag. Please help. is the wifi or the internet the problem? Please respond and every answer i get is much appreciated.

Note that my internet as of now is DSL and it was doing fine with cable, it was just the time when the wifi started to be bad when we shitched from cable to DSL.

Update:

ha yeah i know that hardwiring is better its just thats never going to happen because id rather have it in my room than downstairs. its just that it sucks because for about a year we had terrible wifi, get a new one, and then 2 weeks later of it being great, it sucks

You FIX it by forgetting the wireless connection and hard wiring the xbox directly to your router. Wireless is the worst thing you can do for online gaming.

I don't use wifi for gaming. I have a powerline setup, it sends the data through house wiring and then you can have a wired connection. Walls can ruin a good wifi connection unfortunately but small moves might make a difference. Otherwise, set up a repeater.

Are your wifi bars low only while gaming? If so you may be experiencing "IP flooding."

IP flooding a type of Denial of Service attack whereby the victim or system is flooded with information, using up all available bandwidth thereby preventing legitimate users from access.

Common among online game users, and it's illegal.

Call your internet service provider, get them to boot your internet back up. Inform them you have been DDoSed, they may or may not ask what that is, but if they do, tell them they basically shut your internet down. DDoS / IP flooding is illegal.

    DDoS=distributed denial-of-service attack.

In any case I would call your ISP and ask for advice.

    Best of luck!
