    2. You have to determine as best you can the underlying reason for resistance to change. It can be any number of things such as loss of authority or control, a belief that the change is a temporary fad, loss of status, fear of overload of new information, loss of job security, lack of faith in their ability to learn new skills or even deeply personal reasons that are not readily discovered.

    If you understand the underlying reason (or reasons) you might sit down with the person and try to have a discussion as to how to resolve the employee's issue.
