Volleyball Help PLEASE! I Don't Know What I Didn't Do!?

Yesterday, I had the second half of my first set of tryouts. I didn't make it.

I'm 5'3" with the shoes on. No idea what my vertical is. I was trying out for Libero.

I was passing pretty consistently. I was serving pretty consistently. I was loud. I was running to every ball that I at least thought I could get without seriously injuring another girl or myself. I was forced to play Setter MULTIPLE times. I was forced to play Middle MULTIPLE times. I was non-stop on the court pretty much. PLUS, I dove for balls when I wouldn't break my neck on the balls people left laying on the court. I was doing everything I thought I coulod be doing, and I STILL didn't make a team.

I played just as well as some of the best girls trying out. I don't know what I didn't do though...

Please help me. I have tryouts again tomorrow and maybe Saturday, and if I don't make this team, I'm pretty sure I'm not playing volleyball for an entire season.

Thanks! :)

Update:

I didn't mean to sound arrogant or anything when I said, "I played just as well as some of the best girls trying out."

It's just one of those days where you KNOW you played well. You KNOW it was a good day, and you won't deny it. You KNOW you played with some of the better people.

    I'm sorry about that! D:

I wasn't there, so I can't exactly tell you why, but I have some ideas...

5'3" is very short in volleyball, which I'm sure you know, and yes, I get you were trying out for Libero, but in the cruel world of volleyball, taller girls usually tend to be taken first, because coaches usually think they can work with them easier, even if they aren't great to begin with. I also know you said you were loud, but even if you think you were loud, you have to amp up your volume by 10. Were you giving players high-fives and complimenting them? This is something coaches look for excessively. And, if you are going to be a Libero, you need to CONSTANTLY be passing consistently. I know, as a setter myself, I wouldn't like it if my Libero was only giving me good passes 'pretty consistently'. I would suggest trying out a just a DS if you think your passes were not ALMOST 100% of the time right-on target.

I get the whole having to play other positions thing, too. I sometimes have to play OH, and I'm not used to hitting. Yes, it's frustrating, but you have to show you are willing to do anything.

I don't want to sound rude or mean, but how do you know you were playing as well as some of the best girls were? Coaches are the ones watching, and they may have noticed something wrong with your form, or maybe just your attitude.

Also, it depends on your age group. 11s-13s, they are usually more lenient on 'pretty consistent' things, but 14s and up, it's more of something that should be entirely consistent.

I hope this was helpful, and good luck at your next tryouts! Don't give up!
