Should we remove the "D" and the "R" in front of the candidate's name on the ballot?

Update:

@time 2 deprogram u: That's a terrible philosophy. It's one that effectively states Lyndsay Graham - (R) is better than Dennis Kucinich - (D). And if you know anything about Lyndsay Graham, you know he hates America. The same can be said about John McCain for authoring the NDAA which allows for the indefinite detention of American citizens without due process, and without a shred of evidence of wrongdoing.

No. We need to know what they stand for.

I've considered what would happen if we did that. There would be quite a few confused people, that's for sure, and that may lead us to a situation even worse that we're in now. Getting rid of the parties as a whole would basically destroy the two-candidate tradition. We could see a variety of candidates all with a chance of winning. I'm all for the change.

Probably would be a good idea but listening to the Conservatives you must realize they will vote for anyone but Obama except Ron Paul. They are two sides of the same coin. I think it's positively diabolical how the Neo Conservatives butted Paul out and had Paul Ryan in. It's kind of a psychological shake up. A young Ron Paul. He even pretends to be a Libertarian. You see. they want to start WW111 the continued Holy War. And the Neocons know that they can round up the Chicken Hawks on that. Pathetic

I myself think they should both be called the CFR party as this is the common agenda the R's and D's serve, and the private political activist group that the majority of both parties belong to.

At a minimum they should be required to wear Nascar style suits with all of their corporate sponsors patches sewn on for all to see.

Since both major parties function as plug-in, plug-out modules (it is special interest groups that plug into the open sockets), that does have a tendency to produce at least some incoherence philosophically within each major party. That said, I think that removing the "D" or "R" (or, for that matter, "I" for independent or any other label) is not going to seriously affect politics. No matter what label conservatives, libertarians or "liberals" sail under, the underlying philosophical differences will remain.

No, because I have determined to vote against every Democrat in every election for as long as I live.

I need to know who the enemy is quickly and easily, without having to do a lot of research.

Because there's really nothing else I need to know.

Any candidate who is willing to have a D next to their name is not worthy of any elected office.

Might as well, these people may not realize it, but they are basically voting for the same country killing agendas.

Labels only confuse and taint people's opinions.
