I have figured how to do the sums and subtraction; but I can't figure out how to divide a number.

to divide cell C1 by cell C2. you type =C1/C2 and for multiplication you type the same but you replace the / with a *

The answers you have are correct.
add is +
subtract is -
multiply is *
and
divide is /
Examples: -
6+3 is 9
6-3 is 3
6*3 is18
6/3 is 2
If you have a calculator it usually works using the same symbols.
Even works on most Mobile phones that have calculators.

Use the slash "/"
=8/4
=B23/5
To multiply, use the asterisk "*"
=8*4
