Why mexicans stopped using violins in there music?

I believe the traditional music sounds way better and even majestic than the newer corridos where they over do it with the accordions and tuba.

Modern Mariachi music is as Mexican as Tequila and Sombreros, and every Mariachi band features violins, some as many as 8! If it hasn't got a violin or three, it ain't Mariachi.
