Is it possible to be in a relationship, without liking yourself?

I don't think it's possible to be in a healthy romantic (any other) relationship without liking yourself first. I don't think one would feel comfortable in their own skin...what do you think?

It's possible to be in a relationship, but i wouldn't call it healthy. If you aren't happy within yourself you will continually rely on your partner for validation and support, which will only reinforce your dependence on others. This can often result in a spiral of low self-esteem, and if the relationship breaks down, a series of rebounds as the individual tries to find validation which he/she can't find within his/herself.

I don't think it is possible either. This question reminds me of the film Mary and Max, when Mary writes to Max about not being able to find love and Max mails her a candy heart that says "love yourself first." Fantastic film.

it is possible to be in a relationship feeling that way because your partner (if they truly feel for you) will make you feel better at any cost
