police officer searched my car without asking me?
i was driving my friend home and out of no where a police officer follow us to my friends house and we were parked but once we notice the police car coming my friend left and walked to his porch. they stopped him and then the other officer comes to me saying i should let him know if i have anything illegal on me as the other officer opens the passenger door and searches the car without me allowing it. Then they have my outside to search my pockets. the reason they came was because my friends neighbor called the police because all his friends park on the side street in front of his house doing heroin so he called the police once he saw us in the car.we know it was him because when the police had us detained he came out saying the police were on their way even though they already arrived and this morning he was looking for the drugs my friend tossed in the lawn of another persons house...What would happen if i told them i don't consent to searches? or if i asked if im being detained or if im free to leave? all in all i did have drugs on me but i hid it pretty well and they didn't find it

Theres some excellent web pages advising of your rights in each and every jurisdiction be quite often police can not search until they have either permission or a warrant. After they do enter or search without permission or a warrant you're informed to now not obstruct them but to in general repeat "I don't provide permission for this search". Extra information can also be discovered doing a google as above. Total my personal view is that being courteous and compliant will see all of it go less difficult exceptionally if the cop you run throughout is a PSYCHO as only some of them are.

Next time, very politely say you do not consent to searches.
However, keep in mind your friend throwing out something from your car IS a reason for them to search your vehicle. It's a little tricky here. If they do not have a reason to search and you say you do not consent to searches they can get in trouble, the case can be thrown out. However if they have a valid reason to search I don't think saying " You do not have a consent to search" matters so much. Regardless say it anyways. If they search against your will do not get aggressive. That can and probably would be used against you. There's videos about this on YouTube that explain it much better than I can. There's a series called Flex Your Rights. It matters if you get arrested really. Saying you do not consent can potentially throw out a case in court.

It is called probably cause. You could have told the officer you didn't consent to the search. Thus, if there was something illegal found in the car, a good lawyer could argue "unreasonable search and seizure."

Basically because someone called and reported you all committing a crime, that was reason to search, there is a few reasons to search and that is one of them.
I have been searched during a basic traffic stop and all my stuff was in order, the cops did find some weed but they tossed it and let me go because they illegally searched my car, they searched without reason.
Yeah I was mad about it, but it is not worth the hassle, to report.

Probable cause/warrant they don't need to ask. But it can become a probable cause if you don't stop for the police or EVEN if your friend goes for a wonder after seeing the police.

You friend's neighbor called the police. They therefore has sufficient reason to suspect a crime in progress, and don't NEED your permission to search your car.

they had reason to believe that due to the call that you were doing/dealing something illegal. probable cause allows him to search without permission or a warrant for your car. which coincidentally you WERE doing something illegal.... stop complaining

They can do anything they want, they have the gun and badge , but a good lawyer will getThe evidence throwed out in court

Next time run out of the car, yell "BEES!" while flailing your arms and run home

They had probable cause and didn't need your permission.
