If Israel really wants peace, why doesn't it give the West Bank to Jordan?

Everyone's just tired of your war with the Arabs, seriously. I know you've fought with Jordan in the past, but at least it doesn't support Hamas. It would be the ideal moderate solution to the conflict.

Update:

I am quite serious; Israel's international image has suffered deeply in the last few decades, and it may yet continue to decline if you continue your ways. Why do you Jews not realize this?

We are very worried over how we shall look in the eyes of Mauritania, Fiji and Samoa Islands, but the problem of the image of our economically weaker arab neighbors troubles us even more. So,

we have decided to help them improve their international image that suffered so because everyone´s just tired of their war with us.

And the first step we consider absolutely necessary to achieve the ideal moderate solution to the conflict would be:

Egypt gives us the Sinai and we sent there arabs from Gaza.

Jordan gives us a part of its territory over the River Jordan and we send there arabs from Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem.

After such a wonderful solution of the conflict we live in peace and the heavily damaged international image of the arab countries immediately start to grow to the skies.

If you don´t do this, it may yet continue to decline if you continue your ways. Why do you Arabs not realize this?

This is particularly populated with Judaism and Muslims - there are Christians - but the storm will not be calmed with the discuss with of the Pope. Relatively, he is inappropriate to the neighborhood in many ways. There are Christians, not all which might be Catholic - once more, irrelevant to the area. It is nice he needs to take a look at -however i do not suppose it'll topic. This Holy battle stems again between simply that - the Jews and the Muslims - even Christians to a degree, are inappropriate outside of the fact that they support the Jews to be in their land of Israel. For this - the Muslims don't like them.

Jordan threatened to walk out on the peace talks if Israel insisted that Jordan take the West Bank! Seriously, it was a big threat & deal breaker. A lot of Jordan's reason for forming peace with Israel was to gain an ally & support against the Arabs under Arafat's leadership.

Some critical dynamics: Arafat & the PLO were part of the Pan Arab Nationalism movement to became the next regional empire in coordination with Syria, Egypt and extending into Lebanon & Jordan.

To that end, Arafat invaded Jordan & the result was black September. While the PLO Arabs make it out to be a horror at them, they started it. They attempted to assassinate King Hussein AFTER the King made an offer to co-rule Jordan with Arafat.

Syria's rulers & some people think Lebanon is part of Syria. They try to take it over & influence through Hizbollah. The Iranian support of Hizbollah & alliance with Syria is just a piece of that issue. Syria's assassinated Lebanon's non-Hizbollah prime minister. Syria also attacked Jordan to take that over.

Nasser of Egypt said point blank repeatedly the concepts of Pan Arab Nationalism.

(If you want to get even creepier, the Vichy France as colonalists pushed Pan Arab Nationalism as a way to create regional conflict with Israel to distract Arabs from the Vichy, and as a nice side effort to harm Jews. So in many ways, the current conflict is a continuation of fighting over a group, Vichy, that no longer exists.)

The conflict isn't really israel vs. Arabs. It's Arab rulers, dictators, tribe leaders, and groups using Israel as a distraction from not doing well for their own people.

Jordan doesn't want it. The only reason they ever took it was to stop Israeli expansionism. The official policy of Jordan is to recognize Palestinian sovereignty over the West Bank. The Jordanians do also have a history of conflict with the PLO, both when they were in control of the WB and afterwards.

The only solution to the conflict is to recognize national self-determination, which means creating an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

wow it's a long issue.. i'll write it concisely. (and yes, it's kind of called short hahahah)

first reason: there are israelis who live there - they and another jews from other places will object it.

second reason: the west bank isnt belong to jordan = israelis and "palestinians" object it (the arabs here, or at least part of them, want it to be their own country).

third reason: -part- (not all of them) of the arabs are terrorists. they still will do things against israel if they live there. it's like egypt.

fourth reason: part of the arabs here want ALL israel, part of them are maybe satisfied with the west bank, and there are part who prefer to live in the democratic israel (maybe only the secular arabs).

fifth reason: it's unknown if jordan government will agree for it.

sixth reason: we gave the arabs gaza on condition that they won't bombs about israeli cities anymore, and what we got back? more bombs. what they got back? "siege".

seventh reason: combination of third reason to my personal issue which is also the reason of all the israelis: my city is close to the green line (it's not in the west bank). it means that if the west bank will be of the arabs and there won't be israeli soldiers there so may city will be bombed. and if i sad when israelis who i don't know get injured or murdered, of course i'll be more sad when it will happened to my family and friends or every other person who i know.

and this is also what the other israelis will feel.

Source(s): israeli. i wrote it from my israeli view point. historical facts which i wrote - can be proved.

Its not a bad idea except for a couple of things.

Fistly the Palestinians would not be happy with the solution and ther terror would just increase, and secondly Jordan already has a huge problem with the Palestinians who create problems and terror in Jordan and i would bet that they would not like to take on another million or so of them.

Contrary to mr. Wolfswift statement Israel is VERY much involved in American actions for example Iran.

Israel is trapped, it has created a Frankenstein's monster in West Bank settlements. The settlers are powerful enough as a voting bloc to topple any Israeli government. Or just kill the PM. An honest attempt at a two state solution will forever put lands in the West Bank beyond settler colonization. This effectively signs the death warrant (perhaps literally) of the ruling party(s).

Jordan ceded its claim to the West Bank years ago.

The old Jewish kingdom in the Bible was WAY larger than it is today. You're telling the Jews to give MORE of their land away to them Arabs?

GIVE IT BACK to the Palestinians.......and end the conflict.....

A Palestine state is a Jordanian interest and priority to stop any expansion of israel to the East of the river...
