is niles communication group real?

Wondering if Niles communication group a real company..i received a job offer and was wondering if it's real or if it's another one of those scams..here's the messages they sent

Dear Job Seeker,

Thank you for your interest in the Customer Service Represenative opening announced by Niles Communication Group. Niles Communication is a full-cycle designer agency specializing in graphic design and printing solutions for businesses and individuals, from creating business cards to developing corporate branding. Due to the seasonal increase of the orders amount, we are hiring people to fill additional openings working from home. This is a perfect opportunity to utilize your spare time and get a stable additional income while working from your own home office.

Position Details

As a Customer Service Represenative you will NOT be expected to engage in direct sales, active search for new customers, cold calling or advertising activities. Your performance will be tracked online, at our corporate web server. You won't be required to buy any special software or equipment; a laptop/desktop with a stable Internet connection and a working cell phone/landline will be enough. All new employes are provided with free training materials and assigned to department supervisors for further guidance and consultations prior to the official start date.

Daily Routine

Your typical day will start with logging into the corporate server and checking on new messages and assignments. These, for example, can be looking for the contact information on a customer or industry event dates, reviewing the documentation of a project, confirming and processing a payment on an order, etc. You must stay online during your work hours, no matter how many current assignments and/or customers you have. At the end of the day you send a report on the completed tasks to your supervisor, inform him/her on your progress and log off. We usually operate Monday to Friday, so you won't be working on weekends and US federal holidays.

Compensations & Benefits

We offer part-time and full-time opportunities, thus your work hours can vary from 20 to 40 hours per week. Your fixed base salary will be $3,500 per month for full-time schedule or $1,750 for part-time hours. There are also various bonuses based on the number of customers you take for support, as well as on your efficiency and accuracy with the assignments. If you can work on several projects and support more than one customer, you can double your base monthly pay with bonuses.

You will be granted with the status of an official employee of the company, not an independent contractor; thus you will receive a W-4 form to fill out upon signing the employment documentation, and all taxes will be deducted from your paycheck. And after the first 6 months of work you will become eligible for the corporate 401k plan, health insurance program and a 3-week vacation.

Getting Started

If you would like to join Niles Communication Group as a Customer Service Represenative, simply reply to this message, and I will email you the employment documentation package for review and and a link to our official website. Please note that NO startup fees, investments or other payments are required in order to ensure the employment! Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them as well: you can reach me by email or directly at the number below. This position is available starting on October 29th, 2012; candidates available to start immediately will have the priority.

Best regards,

Emily Dudek (HR)

Niles Communication Group

Phone: (718) 404-9294

Update:

I received another email from her this morning with attachments of w-4 and some other one I do believe it's a scam...not falling for it here is the email she sent me this morning

Good afternoon,

And my apologies for the delay. I'm sending you our standard employment documentation for review, which consists of the actual Employment Agreement plus a 2012 W-4 issued by IRS. As soon as the new year begins, I will supply you with a 2013 W-4 for the proper income tax deductions.

Now, once again, Customer Service Rep is a permanent position, and though the contract is officially given for 1 year, it's automatically prolonged every year, unless you or us would like to terminate it. There are 2 work schedule options: full-time and part-time. For full-time, which is 9am to 5pm your time, we pay $3,500 per month (before taxes). For part-time, which is 9am to 1pm your time, we pay $1,750 per month (before taxes). Paychecks are issued every 2 weeks since the start date. Also, as for

    100% scam.

There is no job. The clue that this is a scam is the phrase "confirming and processing a payment on an order" which is scammer-talk for "cash the fake check" or "accept the fake bank transfer" and "send your cash to the scammer".

The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the "secretary/assistant/accountant" and will demand you cash a large fake check sent on a stolen UPS/FedEx billing account number and send most of the "money" via Western Union or moneygram back to the scammer posing as the "supply company" while you "keep" a small portion. When your bank realizes the check is fake and it bounces, you get the real life job of paying back the bank for the bounced check fees and all the bank's money you sent to an overseas criminal.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.

Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs:

    1) Job asks you to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one.

    2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order.

    3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity.

    4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone.

    5) Job asks you to pay visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram.

    6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site.

Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed 'red flags' and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason.

If you google "fake check cashing job", "fraud Western Union job scam", "check mule moneygram scam", "fake bank transfer job scam" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near-victims of this type of scam.

I also received this email and have determined it is more than likely a scam and here is why.

I read what others had found and discovered some of the same results, but I also checked the NY State Business registries and found that Nile Communication Group Inc is in Closed status.

I also found that the supposed CEO's LinkedIn profile and it does list NCG but says:

"Niles Communications Group (NCG) was a full-service graphic communications firm. Its mission was to help clients..." The 'was' is what caught my eye and caused me to dig further.

I looked at the emails header and found this:

    "Received: from s2.oilhost.nl ([unknown] [94.242.204.44])"

I searched 'oilhost.nl' and found that this IP is based out of Luxembourg not New York.

This is enough for me, but it saddens me that I am out of work and spending so much time having to weed through scams to find a real job. It also saddens me that the scams are getting even more elaborate, this looked like a real offer. Its such a shame we need to be very careful on this, almost makes me feel that we should go back to mail and phones for job offers.

I received the same email. When I did a search for the company, I found "Niles Communication(s) Group in Manhattan. Yelp said this company was listed as closed. I did a reverse search on the (718) phone number and it's some number in Brooklyn. I thought it strange that a graphic design company didn't have a website or physical address, so I emailed Emily to ask about it. No response thusfar. I also left her a voice mail and no response.

Hey Jessie, I got the exact same thing, verbatim. Also from Emily Dudek. The website looks legit, but wonder why it doesn't show up at all when you search "niles communications group" ? That was my first tip. Wendell Niles' linkedin page says his company shut down in 2004, and now he has a new company Niles Advertising. So yeah, I would say this is a scam.

Ask them for their address and their tax ID number and say that you will be coming by for an interview to find out more before you fill out anything. If they don't agree then don't follow up

EDIT - Look at the phone number. the REAL Niles Communication Group has a 212 phone number as seen in the post above. Also they are NOT called Niles Communication Group anymore -- from anything I can find online they changed their name to Niles Advertising about 3 years ago

I got a response from Emily Dudek with a link to a very minimal website asking for my W-2 form and what not. It said once they received my paperwork, they would send me the training supplies. However, whenever i call the number on the web site, its just an answering machine for Emily Dudek. Its very clearly a scam. A very elaborate scam, but a scam.

Their website is really Cheesy! www.nilescommgroup.com. I have spent too much time on this so I reported them to the Federal Trades Commission (FTC) One of their primary functions in to look into Identity Theft and this looks like a front to get sensitive information from people. No interview, no job!

No person to return calls or take necessary job oder's, no job! I'm pissed that I spent this much time researching, but I am very happy that this is not going unreported. These are getting much harder to spot, but the dead give away was when Emily asked for my W-4 without setting up a phone interview!?!? Really! "Wendells" Linked In page could be anyone, but listening to Emily's voice message did seem to calm me down for a moment. No reply, no job!!

Source(s): Linked In, BBB, Federal Trades Commission.

Hi, I was wondering the exact same thing. I cannot find anything on the company. I JUST received the EXACT same email you did. Did you go ahead and request the employment documentation package? Seems to good to be true true huh? $42,000 a year and all the benefits after 6 months...

I was wondering the same, I also recieved an e-mail that is word for word the same as yours. In an effort to research this group I ran across your question. It does seem a little weird that we both recieved the exact same e-mail. I have search the internet and I can't get any valid information, I tried to call the number all I get is a recording. I am wondering the same question as you.

I also received this exact email. I did call Emily and left her a message. I have not received a call back. I am currently searching on the internet, but haven't found anything to validate or not whether this company exists.
