What are those silver things people wear in their ears. A phone? Do they carry a cell phone too.?

Do they carry a cell phone too? If the silver thing in their ear is a receiver, does a cell phone automatically turn on and send sound to their ear, when the phone rings? Or do they have to manually switch on the phone. What about ending call. Do they have to switch off the cell phone, or what?

Weird.

It is a headset connected by the Bluetooth protocol. So basically it is a one ear headset that functions as the call mechanism that has to be connected wirelessly to a phone, usually in their pocket. To start and end a call they press a button on their headset which accepts and ends the call. Pretty simple really.

the silver thing is a bluetooth. Yes they have to have the phone to answer and hang up with some bluetooths. Some of them have buttons on the side that do it

That's a Bluetooth. You have to synch it to the phone but then you are done. To end a call, you click a button on the bluetooth.

It's called a Bluetooth. It's pretty much a phone that you don't have to hold, but you still have your phone with you
