Terrorism will always be a threat. There will always be insurgents who are not happy with a lot of things. Face it.
Iraq is not a failure as a dictatorship regime has been toppled. There will always be more dictatorship regimes that will surface - Iran, China, North Korea, even Russia...
So the fact the Iraq mission was a 'success' is really not that big a deal.
