The motherboard does say PCI 2.0 on it, so that means it can run it, or no?

You can run any graphics card(s) on that board, as long as they'll fit inside your case and you have the proper power supply to support it (or them). You can even use a PCIe 3.0 card on the 750i, but the bit rate will be limited to the 2.0 spec.
I'm currently using that same board with two GTX 560 Ti's on it.
