When I was 10, my family and I experienced a category 4 hurricane. The hurricane was initially expected to hit further north of us, but made a last minute right-hand turn towards our path. Fortunately, we had enough time to pack most of our valuable things and send them to our grandma's home, where we hid in her closet after evacuating our own house, which got destroyed. My grandma's house only suffered minor roof damage, but power outages plagued the area. After weeks of having to live off a generator, and without our own home, we ended up moving completely.

Earthquake. I was playing Playstation with my friends. My couch started shaking and over the headset I said "Whoa, I think I'm feeling an earthquake!". One of my friends also said "Yeah, I feel it too". My two other friends just told us we were dumb@**
