President Obama for several reasons (1) He's already coordinated disaster relief, Romney in the primaries campaigned on ending federal disaster relief and handing it to the states, said we can't afford it; (2) Dems vote early in higher numbers, early voting will be disrupted in 14 states and people in crisis are less likely to vote at their polling place a week from now, so... (3) Romney is collecting 'donated stuff' at his campaign offices for Red Cross, they don't want 'stuff' because they have to inspect it for safety, repackage and transport it, Red Cross only wants monetary donations during an emergency - another Romney misstep. Just sayin'

Although Romney has said he believes in global warming and that it is man made, he has backed off that and does not support doing much about it now.

Scientists are not sure global warming is effecting hurricanes yet but the latest study National Academy of Sciences indicates that seems to be the case.

    http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2012/10/16/glo...

There IS scientific concensus that global warming is real, man made, and dangerous.Pulitzer prize winning Politifact.com has looked into it and determined ‘there is significant scientific consensus that human beings are contributing to global warming’.http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements...

The credentials of the scientists being asked is key.

    Here’ what Politifact found:

” the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a scientific body considered the leading international organization on climate science. “Most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (man made) greenhouse gas concentrations,”

“In the United States, the U.S. Global Change Research Program coordinates and integrates federal research on climate. Its 2009 report mirrored the IPCC’s conclusions”.

“A 2010 study published by the United States National Academy of Sciences – found that 97 to 98 percent of those ACTIVELY PUBLISHING in the field said they believe human beings are causing the climate change,

“Climate change skeptics have their own petition, commonly called the Oregon petition, that has been endorsed by 31,000 signers opposing restrictions on carbon emissions. But that petition has been criticized for not checking the credentials of its signatories or proving that the signatories exist’

Their site says signers includes 9,029 PhD; 7,157 MS; 2,586 MD and DVM; and 12,715 BS (4 year degree) Apparently ONLY 39 have a degree in climatology and it does not say if they have published or if they have a PHD or BS. How hard is it to sign, easy they don't even check credentials http://www.petitionproject.org/instructions_for_si...

Speaking of credentials , how about these:

Stephen Hawking -”climate change greatest threat facing planet”.

Carl Sagan – “If we keep on with business as usual, the Earth will be warmed more every year; drought and floods will be endemic; many more cities, provinces, and whole nations will be submerged beneath the waves.”

Romney does not want a strong Federal Emergency body. He wants to reduce its funding. He is now trying to back track on that by saying that that role belongs to the states so that rich states will have good disaster relief and poor ones will have none.

Romney has had to change his mind so often that no one knows exactly where he stands on any issue.

He really deserves a dunce cap.

Well Romney might get to tell some people with destroyed homes to go back home or go to their second house...He truly cares about others.

Unfortunatley romney will, because the storm is attacking dem states and he doesnt have to worry about a hurricane

Obama he can just do press releases and what he does will be more publicized and become publicized before anything Romney does.

I don't think either will... I'm in central New York and I'm scared of the winds:0
