Considering 2nd camera? Sony SLT A77 vs Canon 5D mark II (with good lens) or Nikon D600 (body)?
Recently I made some extra cash and I want to invest in second/spare camera. I own very good Sony HD Handycam Camcoder but I need something more compact for shooting video (obviously). I already have a camera (Pentax takes fancy pics) but it's crop, 24p and I have very few lenses so video quality is like bleh. My friends (kinda experienced photographs) told me to go with Nikon or Canon (which means dumping my old camera). The problem is that Nikon/Canon cameras don't offer 60p/60i and Sony does. So should I go with Sony A77 + 16-50? I'm not buying A99 because A77 can do the same and I don't want to pay for few features I will never use (I'd rather spend saved money on good lenses and accessories).
What is smartest choice?
P.S. I listed cameras I consider in the title and I'm not gonna post specs (people who can help me don't ned specs).

Mmm well you could try them I would say.
Only experience I have is with the A65, the smaller brother of the A77 and when it comes to video its very very very good. Even its inbuild stereo mice is actually pretty decent. Though you know we say you do need to use an external mike.
Eeeh.. you know if you plan to stay with Sony then yes the A77 is one of the best choices. WIth the 16-50mm a great little number!

Canon has better lenses I think then Nikon -- I use a 5d Mark III as my primary but go with full frame if you can... wait. wait. I just saw that you are more into film.
Will you be shooting in low light?
If, so go with full frame but if not go with the more features of the film side -- of the other two choices.

i prefer you getting Canon 5D Mark II because of it's more advanced feature than D600 eventhough it is not proven to be much better than SLT A77.
although D600 is newer, well me myself still would go for 5D Mark II for that good lens you can buy.
i won't choose Sony because Sony's lens variation is less than Canon's (although it is not much).

Buy Canon or Nikon, skip Sony!

There's nothing wrong with a Pentax that the others will fix, as long as you use the stills camera for stills and the video camera for video.
