Applauding after listening to quran or shaikh?

Should you applaud after listening to a shaikh or scholar? The Quran I know is wrong to applaud but I have seen in some of Dr. Zakir's speech after his speech, the people applaud? Isn't that wrong?

    They are only applauding because they are happy he finally shut up. Everyone knows that man is an idiot.

    What business these infidel pagan minded people have in coming here in Ramadan section and put down Islamic beliefs and what Muslim says to each others. If they don't like what a Muslim asks a question, why don't they get out of here and go in 'Religion & Spirituality' section or any where else they like.

    Yes zozo, it is, at least for men or women to clap anytime. Women can clap in salah for a completly different reason though. So clapping is haram, but if yourclapping to let people know of a fire or somehting than its okay, its th intention that counts

    His speech is not Qur-an only. He preaches Islam in English.

    Yes its Wrong !! its not allowed in islam..
