Yes, ..., I did! That was pretty awesome! I wish we could have seen that here in North Carolina. Alas, there was too much cloudiness from Sandy to see anything as spectacular as that. Yes, that would have been a mostly local event but there were enough ice crystals in the atmosphere here to have cause halos as well.
We did have a nice halo around the moon last night though!

@Geoff We do get halos and sundogs in the south during the winter on a regular basis. I photographed a pair of stacked sundogs on 22-Sept-2012 over Apex, NC. However, a halo like that I've never seen. See the second link below

Wow! We get halos and sundogs fairly often up here in Canada, but they must be pretty rare in the southern states, I've never seen such a perfect example in my life; mostly I just see bits and pieces, like this colourful one last March:
