Liberals are mistaken to argue in the wake of super-storm Sandy that it proves the need for more government, according to a Wall Street Journal editorial.
“The larger liberal fallacy here is that effective government requires bigger government,” Journal editors write. “Americans expect a government, at whatever level, to do its core functions well. But the bigger and more costly the government, the more likely it is to do more things poorly.”
It’s laughable for left wingers to suggest that Mitt Romney and other Republicans oppose disaster relief, the editorial says. “It’s absurd to argue that a once-in-a-century storm means you can't block-grant Medicaid.”
Democrats wrongly accuse Romney of wanting to axe the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). And they fail to note that Obama's own 2013 budget includes a 6 percent reduction. “If budget cuts to FEMA are the liberal standard, their beef is with Mr. Obama,” the editorial states.
Romney was right to say that the federal government should allow states and cities to handle disasters to the extent that they can, according to Journal editors.
“Energetic governors and mayors are best equipped to handle disaster relief because they know their cities and neighborhoods far better than the feds ever will, and they know their citizens will hold them accountable. The feds can help with money and perhaps expertise.”

Yeah where is that old PSA that shows you how to safely eat out of a dumpster? Wasn't that supposed to be liberal compassion?

I agree, Mooshell should be there to make sure they are eating the right kind and right amount of garbage. BTW I'll bet they wished they had some of food Romney was getting together for them when the labials criticized him for it.

Drudge needs to STFU.
Obama has been here and toured and so have others from FEMA and the administration.
In fact Bloomberg has asked that Obama not tour the neighborhood that burned because the police are needed elsewhere.

Make sure you get as much political advantage out of people's misery as possible! You only have a short time before your moron Romney loses.

Probably lying about the pictures. Maybe they are looking for artifacts that washed away from their homes. Wouldn't you look for your lost stuff?
