My dog drinks too much water then is sick a few minutes after?
I have a 6 year old rottweiler and she really likes water, she drinks normal when I'm next to her but whenever I'm out of the room or not looking at her she gets up and goes for the water, gulps it and keeps gulping it for about 1 minute then a few minutes after she is sick. She always does it and I'm getting sick of cleaning vomit up, I've had to get 3 new carpets because of her.

i had a lab that would do this same thing. since puppyhood she would drink til her tummy was bloated then she would throw up water shortly after. so i just rationed her water. i took her off a self-waterer and i would full up a bowl several times a day (make sure in the hot summer months she gets more) and eventually she would drink less and less until i was able to put her back on the self-waterer with trust in her that she wouldnt over drink. she was an abandoned puppy when i took her in so we always figured she was used to being hungry and thirsty so thats why when she got fed or had water she would eat and drink everything with the mindset that she may not know when she'll get food and water again. someone suggested taking her to the vet. if you are unsure if she's sick with something then thats always a good bet too. i would just suggest re-training her at food and water etiquette :)

I've had some consumers who've carried out this. The one option to spoil her of it is to present her water handiest after eating, after any style of recreation, or whether it is excessively hot, and then simply small amounts at a time. Each time she begins drinking too much too rapid take the water faraway from her before she gets to the factor of throwing up. She would in general advantage more from the water if you take it away when she does this because she sure is not getting any throwing it up. You might additionally make certain she is quality and calm before delivering her the water. If none of this starts working inside a couple of days take her to the vet so he can do an intensive exam and make certain she does not have any obstructions.

If you are getting sick of cleaning up vomit, then take your dog to the vet and have her checked to make sure she doesn't have any medical issues you are not aware of yet. If she throws up a few minutes after drinking water, it's not normal, it could be for many reasons and a vet is the only person who can tell you what's going on with your dog.

Sounds to me she is sick. 2 possibilities I have personally had experience with is kidney disease and diabetes.
Don't limit her water. THAT will kill her before you get her to the vet.
Get her to the vet. Both will eventually kill her untreated.

Either call Caesar Millan the dog whisperer or stop giving her enough water where if she drinks it all she would throw up.
