Do you have to play previous Assassins creeds to know the story to assassins creed 3?

I wanna get the knew one but I never really played ac before. I got ac brotherhood a few years back and had no idea what was going on during the game.

    You don't have to but it would make a lot more sense if you played the other ones, or if you can be bothered why not read the story lines of the precvious

    It'll be kind of tough to get the guys story that takes place now but the revolution part it won't be hard all you have to know is the Templars are bad and want all humans under their control no matter how much they candy coat it. Assassins want everyone to be equal but they want humanity to eventually learn it for themselves

    You don't have to but early in the game you get a quick recap from all other games.But i think you should play them all because they all have good stories.But no you don't have to.

    Not really, check plot summary's of ac1 and 2 on wikipedia, AC3 is based on a new character in a new era.
