Has anyone ever heard of plastic dental night guards?
Has anyone ever heard of plastic dental night guards for both top and bottom teeth? I have night guards for either top or bottom teeth in hard or soft material but not for both top and bottom at the same time.
Thank you,
TomS

You don't need them for top and bottom at the same time, they only need to keep your teeth from contacting to avoid wearing facets on your teeth. Night guards work by making only your anterior teeth occlude against the guard at the same time, and while you are asleep this causes a reflex via your periodontal ligament to not bite as hard.
Go to a dentist to have a real one made. Getting one of the ones from the drug store don't take your occlusion into consideration, so while they will keep you from grinding your teeth, they will actually make you bite harder while you are asleep leading to tendinitis in both your temporalis and masseter muscles, and probably cause headaches.
