- bookworm530Lv 79 years agoThat we had no wild-fire damage on our ranch or affecting friends this last season. That cool weather has arrived along with rain and snow... stops the wild-fire danger, makes it more comfortable to work outdoors, and will fill our lake, ponds, and well so we have water for the gardens and vineyards come Spring / Summer. That we got through our annual hog slaughter / butchering this weekend... 38 hogs worth of hams and bacon curing in the smoke-house, sausages made, and the rest of the meat in the freezers or distributed among friends and the needy. That I still have just over 2 weeks to prepare for our Thanksgiving feast !!
