If this is trying to use the online installer for 32-bit Windows, try the offline installer instead. It seems to handle a wider range of system configurations. (AFAIK, the 64-bit installers are all offline so far.)
This is "Programming & Design", so I expect you're trying to install the JDK. If you're not interested in writing programs in Java, though, you should get the JRE instead. Find both at:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/down...
For the x86 (32-bit Windows) installer, click Download under JDK or JRE and choose the offline installer. Run the downloaded program with an administrator login/runas.
