I remember years ago many put their decorations up in September, the big stores still do, but for most private households it has got later and later. Mainly I think because of the increases in electricity prices. In 2003 we put ours up late November, as we were about the only house that hadn't. Nowadays for us it is early December for the tree, and only a few decorations. From 2001 - 2005 we had huge displays, with a consequent surge in our electricity consumption. These days we are more modest.
I think our tree will go up round about 1st December this year.

We consistently attempt this on December 1st. I ensure the Christmas decor received't do justice to the Halloween decor we post for November a million. The coffins and the cobwebs, the aswangs and all which will be up in our the front backyard round October 25. Trick or deal with is a large element the position I stay.

They already started playing Christmas music on my street, but our "tree" isn't up yet.
It's fun and strange to sit in the blazing, mid-day heat and hear "Winter Wonderland" blaring from a few houses over. What a country.
