What does this message mean and how do i fix it?

That will happen when you click on an email link at a website that transfers you to an email program. Since you are probably only using Yahoo mail it is a website and not a standalone program. You have a couple of choices.

The free version of Yahoo mail is designed to only work at the Yahoo mail website. If you pay for Yahoo Plus you can use Yahoo mail in a standalone email program such as Windows Mail. I do not explain how to set that up here.

When you click on a link at a website or within a program to send email it tries to go to the default email "program". Depending on your operating system it can be one of multiple programs. When the program starts it is going to indicate that mail has not been set up in it and may ask for POP3 addresses and passwords. There is no way to set it up with the free version of Yahoo mail.

There are ways to get links in websites to go to the Yahoo website. There is no easy way to make links in programs such as a photo editor go to Yahoo mail on the web. Here is how you can make web site links go to Yahoo webmail.

₪ For Firefox

Go to tools > options > applications. Scroll down to MAILTO and select Yahoo Mail from the dropdown menu.

₪ For Internet Explorer

You must first download Yahoo! Toolbar from http://toolbar.yahoo.com/ and install it. Before the download starts there is an option screen. Be sure to check that you want to make yahoo mail your default email.

NOTE: If you do not want to use the toolbar then just hide it under view>toolbars. I do not know if uninstalling the toolbar removes the email add-on.

If you do not want to do these options then you must just copy the email address from the web site and paste it into a new email.
