what is the best brand of laptop, not including sony, advent, compaq, dell or asus?

HP - Hewlett Packard - This company always create stylish laptops for a very good price.

All of their products look good, and work well, can have some good specs, some come with beats audio, some don't. The verdict is that HP is the best for laptops, and you will never be dissapointed when buying one.

One technical thing, the BIOS updating is automatic which other laptops don't have, due to the BIOS being a special HP one. HP laptops also come with a support centre to give tips about how to speed up, improve and maintain your computer.

Good enough... Compaq is made through hp sony vaio is lovely just right but dell is healthier nice for the rate i don't know about toshiba nevertheless it concerns what is on the inside not who makes it

Always remember: 90% of everything is crap.

The laptop can be any brand, but the weakest link is always gonna be the HARD DRIVE.

Hard drives FAIL -- with me it has been after about a year every time -- almost as if they are programmed to fail when the warranty expires!

In my experience: Dell = HELL.

I have a Lenovo (IBM product) and it's wonderful and very affordable.

Packard Bell! They're one of the most reliable mid-priced laptops.
