America is not nor ever will be Socialist. However, there are die hard Conservatives who still believe Social Security is socialism. All depends on your definition.

We have had a national debt for the entire life of the nation. We can continue to have one for the next 220 years. Hopefully, once the economy recovers completely and more revenue comes into the Government, we can have a surplus instead of a deficit, and bring down the overall national debt.
