Is there any way to stop all the junk mail still coming for my dad who passed away almost 2 years ago?

I've tried sending letters to some but a lot of it is sent by computers. Even the car dealership he dealt with over the years keeps sending him maintenance updates on his car which was sold 2 yrs. ago! By the way, I'm in Arizona.

If you have a copy of the death certificate, make copies and send one to the Postmaster General's office for your state and copies to the others.

It will take a while, but they should stop within 3 months or so. Most are simply renting a list from someone else, and rarely followup to verify the person's name or address.

Not sure what part of Arizona, but here's the address for Phoenix:

    POSTAL INSPECTION SERVICE

    111 W MONROE ST STE 900

    PHOENIX AZ 85003-1788, Phone : (877) 876-2455

One other place you may send a copy of the death certificate is the social security administration with your father's social security number. Of then this is overlooked, but when they are notified the agency closes out that number and puts a "deceased" code in the database so no one else has access or can ever use it in future. Thing is, unless you do this even if your dad was receiving benefits that stopped, the number is not marked automatically as "closed, deceased".
