How to reset an ipod touch?

Okay I got a new ipod touch 5g and I was stupid enough to put a passcode on it that I don't remember and now I can't access my ipod at all. I tried restoring it but it kept asking for my passcode, so I put it on recovery mode and then restored it. It was working fine until my ipod automatically exited recovery mode where I get the same message again that I need to enter my passcode...please help :(

Select the iPod touch's icon from the left side of iTunes.

    Step 4

    Click "Summary."

    Step 5

Click "Restore." A prompt appears asking if you want to back up the device.

    Step 6

Click "Back Up." ITunes backs up your iPod Touch's info. This process can last several minutes. When finished, a prompt appears.

    Step 7

Click "Restore." This process can last several minutes. Once finished, a prompt appears.

    Step 8

Click "OK." Your iPod touch's initial setup screen opens.

    Step 9

Click the "Restore From Back Up Of" bubble and choose the most recent backup from the list.

    Hope this helped
