Started taking Micronor (pill)?

i took it for the first time On wednesday and i was wondering when it would be come affective. I am using other methods of contraception at the minute and was wondering when i could stop? I had my period last friday but i didn't get prescribed it until this week so thats why i didnt take it on the first day of my period.

    With any new birth control, use back-up for 7 days.
