Did Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson ever meet each other?

Just curious if there was even an instance in time when the King of Rock and the King of Pop crossed paths?

Michael & Lisa have both said they first met 1974/1975 when he was doing J5 concerts in Las Vegas.

MJ was 18 or 19 when Elvis died, so they probably did not have a lot to say.

Interview Michael did with Ebony Mag

"Her father [Elvis] used to bring her to catch our show where all nine of us [Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy, Maureen 'Rebbie', LaToya and Janet, then 8] were performing... It was a real family show -- the only family show in Las Vegas which allowed children to come."

Another Interview with ABC I think, I'm not sure.

"When I was 16, we were doing Las Vegas every night, and Elvis Presley and Sammy Davis Jr. would sit me and my brothers in a row and lecture us.

  • Yeah. They apparently did in Las Vegas once, but it's not confirmed.

The story goes that Michael and his brothers were in an elevator in a hotel/casino. He was only a kid at the time. Supposedly Elvis got in the elevator and they just stood there. When Jackson was leaving, Elvis realized he was in the elevator with most of the Jackson five. He said something like "you're that Jackson boy, right?" Apparently, Michael (probably dumbstruck) just nodded and Elvis told him to "be good" as the door was closing.

I'm not really sure about this. Why would Elvis be in an elevator? How could there be room for 3 or four teenage boys, Elvis and his enterauge in an elevator?
