Manually means you do the clutching automatic means the car does it. manuals used to mean better mpg, now is very little difference. many cars offer automatics that you can control. as for control i can control an automatic almost as well as manual.

To begin with someone with one foot can drive an automatic! Manual transmission reqires use of left foot and correct hand at identical time (often hard fo run-cordinated individuals)! Automatic has some "slippage" in use, - and that bills you a small quantity on mileage. Ordinary offers you beter manage of gears you "need to be in". Also higher "feeling' verhivcle on slick roads! Appropriately used an automated (nonetheless) won't final as long as normal, and probably will fee more to restore! However for those who don'y treat take hold of thoroughly, you will have to replace grab once in a while! Though at least the regular transmission is a whole lot esasier to take out! (Which must be accomplished to get snatch out for replacement)! In my opinion (as historical mechanic), - i might take a typical over automatic "any day of the week"! Have had a long way higher luck with requisites, -- i've by no means owned a new vehicle, - and by and large mine are over 100K when I get tehm, -- so I have no proposal how they have got been dealt with, - but it is easier and cheaper to interchange a grasp than an automatic transmission!

a standard is usually in a more sporty performance based car, and an automatic transmission is more luxury. in my opinion standards give you alot more control over your vehicle and it also gives you a little more mpg in your car.

Source(s): i have been driving a standard for years now
