if I take my macbook hdd and put it in a slightly newer macbook pro, (same OS) will it boot?

macbook 1 has 500gb hdd, macbook 2 has faster processor, slightly newer, but only has a 160 hdd. /They run the exact OS

Can I simply pull the 500 hdd and put it in macbook 2 and bootup as normal?

Apples words and stipulations limit that (legally, yet they cant somewhat provide up you from doing it anyhow.) Theoretically, it might want to artwork yet maximum of apples hardware has no living house windows driver or equivalent driver, and it really is somewhat confusing to jot down a sparkling driver for hardware from scratch.

No, because the rest of the hardware is different. It may or may not boot, but even if it does it will be wonky due to the driver and hardware differences.
